The Stork Is Arriving!

Yesterday (Thursday, 30 November) was the big day! We woke up to see that the Chinese had updated their website to the following:

"The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before September 8, 2005."

With our log in date of 5 September, that means we were in!

We then received a call from our agency in Virginia confirming that we have a daughter!!!!!!

Her Chinese name is Guan Shu Ping. She was born on 16 May 2006 -- she's only 6 1/2 months old! She's waiting for us in Kunming, Yunnan Province (way in the southwest of China).

Later in the day we received a translation of her medical report, and everything looks fine.

Later today (Friday, 1 December) we'll have her complete package -- including pictures! We'll also be unveiling her new name. This will make a nice anniversary present for Steve's parents!

Stay tuned for pictures!
